You Should Know This Spring Care Lawn Tip

Spring is a wonderful time to work on your yard as long as you have a spring care lawn tip or 2 before you get started. After all, you cannot expect your yard to perform miracles without some help from you.

A Spring Care Lawn Tip Or Two For You

The first spring care lawn tip that you are going to need to do is keep your spring runoff clean, here is how: Remove any pet waste and trash from the streets, sidewalks and driveways around your house and throw these things in the trash where they belong. Make sure that you clean your gutters on a regular basis. Remember, you can place your leaves into a compost pile for later use. Direct the water from your downspouts onto your lawn.

Another spring care lawn tip that you should make sure to do is restore your lawn by: Taken any of the debris and lawn trimmings from your yard and place them in the trash. Any bare spots will need to be reseeded. If they are caused by salt, then make sure to use a grass mix that is tolerant of salt. These areas will also need to have straw put over them and be watered regularly. Make sure that you are doing your part to prevent soil-erosion by keeping your soil covered with vegetation or mulch. You will need to see if the soil under your yard contains enough phosphorous because you will not want to add any more if there is already enough there. This is especially true if you live in a metropolitan area.

The final spring care lawn tip for you is to keep your lawn care products out of your runoff. Here is how to do this: Check your state's laws to find out if you are actually allowed to use phosphorous in your lawn care. This is because if there is not enough already present and you want to add more, you will not want to get into trouble with the local authorities for doing so. Whenever you use lawn care products, you will need to make sure that you follow the directions on the product's label for proper application and disposal of the container once you are finished. Wait until your grass starts to grow before applying lawn care products. Anything that falls somewhere other than on your lawn can be reused.

Gardening Tip #9

Houseplants can survive in cool or warm temperatures, but drastic fluctuations of temperature may not be good for them. One thing that most plants cannot survive is gas heating. If you have a plant that likes warm conditions, don't put it near an air conditioner in the summer.
